Autumn

The seasons are starting to change at our little farm. The air is still as warm as the summer and the girls have eaten all of the pasture regrowth. The days are shorter and the rams are starting to get a bit "rammy". The leaves are starting to change colour on the trees and the birds are flocking. I love the change of seasons even though some seem to last too long ie winter comes to mind. The circuit of wool shows that I attend are also coming to a close: just one more October 13th in Etobicoke. Enjoy some of the scenery from out little place in the world

Friends

We all have them and we all need them. Friends enrich our lives and hopefully we enrich theirs as well. One doesn't often think of animals having friends, but after years of watching my sheep and dogs, it is clear to me that animals also have "friends". Pictured below are some photos of some of our animals who are almost inseparable. Greta and Wattles aren't just goats, they are sisters and go everywhere together. Feykir and Charlie are together constantly and you won't find one without the other. Even our rooster, who has the choice of several hens for his hareem, chooses to be with only one hen and goes into panic mode if she is out of sight. Another note to say that I will be at the Waterloo County Knitter's Fair September 8th and have lots of lovely new yarns for sale. Hope to see you there.
