Growing Lambs

The moms and babes are all outside in their own special pasture and enjoying the cooler weather we are having. My pasture has taken a hit with all of the heat, but very little rain. I'm glad that we kept it a bit on the longish side to hold on to the moisture. Our first load of hay is in the barn, and more to come in the next few weeks. All of the ram lambs are for sale unregistered, and I am going to determine paternity on the two ewes as one is a spotted gulmoget. I'm certain. Enjoy the pics.

I Know That I Said No Lambs...

But my girls had other plans! I went out this morning, just on a hunch to discover three ewes had just lambed and two more are ready to pop. Bridget had twin ewes and one is the most beautiful colour, and Viola and her daughter, Rose, had single ram lambs. Molly is bursting at the seams and should have twins any time now. Jilly also looks almost ready. I didn't get those ram lambs out soon enough. Oh well. enjoy the baby pics.
