Baby Boom

Today at chore time, a surprise was waiting in the field for us. Chocolate, one of my ewes, was in labour, but not progressing as she should. After getting her and another ewe, Viola, who was also in early labour, into the barn, the vet was called. Both of Chocolate's lambs were trying to be born at the same time, so unfortunately one was lost, but a beautiful dark brown ram lamb survived, and is now up and doing well. Not to be left out, Viola had two wonderful ewe lambs, all on her own, once she had finished helping Chocolate to get her baby dried off. It was a great way to start my day. On another note, I had a great time at the K-W Knitter's Fair this past Saturday. It was my first time as a vendor and I will be back again next year. It was nice to get positive feedback about yarn people had purchased from me this past year, as well as suggestions as to what might make an improvement. This Friday and Saturday, I will be sharing a booth with Linda Swaine, of Rose Haven Farm athe the Impressions Needle Arts show in Stratford. Hope to see you there.
